Sindhi Day Explores Ways to Help Sindhi Women in the UK

International Sindhi Women Organisation (ISWO) in collaboration with Sindhi Sangat United Kingdom (SSUK) and World Sindhi Congress (WSC) held an interactive workshop to explore ways to help Sindhi women in the UK. The event was part of the Sindhi Day held in Bradford on 14th May. Scores of Sindhi women and girls from across the UK participated in the event.

The workshop was moderated by Dr Rubina Greenwood and Mrs Hafeezan Wadhio and addressed by Dr Humaira Somro, Dr Khadija Mahar, Dr Afsana Bhurgri, Ms Sadaf Solangi, Mrs Afroz Solangi, Barrister Sasuie Laghari, Ambreen Hisbani. The workshop discourse focused on women’s health and well-being, their experience to adjust in British life and way forward and how to increase their role in family’s development and participate in community work. The participants shared their experiences and views and had a very lively discussion on Sindhi women issues in the UK. The consensus was that such events need to be organised more often to increase community networking and capacity building.
